About GetInsta

GetInsta is a free, independent web tool for downloading Instagram content that's already publicly accessible — the same videos, Reels, photos, profile pictures, and audio anyone could already view on Instagram without logging in. Paste a public post's link, and GetInsta finds the highest-quality version of that media Instagram makes available and prepares it for you to save.

What GetInsta is not

GetInsta is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. in any way. It is an independent, third-party utility built on top of Instagram's public, unauthenticated web pages — not an official Instagram product or partner.

No login required, ever

GetInsta never asks for your Instagram username, password, or session cookie, and never will. It has no concept of an Instagram account at all — it only ever reads the public page at a URL you paste in, the same page content Instagram already serves to anyone browsing without an account. How it works, in plain terms

When you submit a link, GetInsta's server fetches the corresponding public Instagram page, works out what kind of media it is (video, photo, Reel, and so on), and locates the actual source file Instagram serves for it — without upscaling, re-encoding, or otherwise altering the quality Instagram itself provides. If that lookup fails for any reason — Instagram changed something, the post isn't actually public, or the link doesn't point to supported content — GetInsta reports that honestly instead of guessing or substituting something else. A privacy-conscious approach
