Resolution and format
You receive whatever Instagram's servers deliver for that post, which is normally a JPEG at the resolution the post was published in. GetInsta shows the dimensions on the result card so you know what you are saving before you save it.
Because the image is passed through unchanged, quality depends entirely on what the original uploader published. A photo uploaded at low resolution cannot be improved by downloading it.
Carousel posts
A carousel is a single post containing several photos or videos. Instagram does not reliably expose every carousel item on the public page that GetInsta is allowed to read, so GetInsta currently returns the first item. We would rather tell you that plainly than pretend to deliver the whole set.
Using photos you download
Photos remain the property of the person who took them. Saving an image for personal reference is different from reposting or republishing it, which usually needs the owner's permission.
Multi-photo carousel posts are only partially supported today. GetInsta reliably detects the first image through Instagram's public page data, but cannot currently guarantee every item. Rather than guess, we show exactly what we found.

Will this catch every photo in a carousel post?
Not always. Instagram doesn't reliably expose every carousel item in the public page data we can read without logging in, so GetInsta currently returns the primary image with an honest result rather than fabricating additional items.
What format will I get?
Whatever format Instagram's servers actually serve for that image, which is typically JPEG.
Does this work for photos on private accounts?
No. GetInsta never logs in to Instagram, so it can only reach photos that are visible to anyone without an account.
Responsible use
GetInsta only works with content that is already public, and a post being public does not mean it is free to reuse. Download media you own or have permission to use, and read the DMCA & Copyright page and the Terms of Service for what is expected of you.
