Instagram Profile Picture (DP) Downloader
Enter a public profile's URL to fetch the profile picture, often called a DP, that Instagram currently shows for that account.
Go to the downloaderHow it works
- Copy the profile URL (instagram.com/username) of a public account.
- Paste it into GetInsta with "DP" selected.
- Press Download to preview and save the image.
How big is the picture?
The image returned is whatever size Instagram's public profile page exposes for that account. This is sometimes smaller than the version you see inside the Instagram app, because the app has access that a logged-out web page does not. GetInsta reports the actual dimensions it received rather than claiming a size it cannot confirm.
A current picture, not a history
You get the profile picture as it is right now. GetInsta does not keep older versions, so if an account changes its picture, the new one is what you will see next time.
Respecting people's privacy
A profile picture is a personal image. Saving one to identify an account or for your own reference is one thing; reusing it to impersonate someone or publishing it without permission is another, and may break the law or Instagram's rules. Please use this tool considerately.
Profile pictures from private accounts are only shown at reduced size, or not at all, to logged-out visitors, so results for private accounts are limited by what Instagram makes public.
Frequently asked questions
Does this work for private accounts?
Only to the extent Instagram shows a private account's picture publicly. GetInsta never logs in on your behalf, so it cannot get anything a logged-out visitor cannot see.
Why is the image smaller than I expected?
Instagram's public, unauthenticated profile page doesn't always expose the same high-resolution picture the app shows to a signed-in viewer. GetInsta reports the actual resolution it received.
Do I need the username or the full link?
Paste the full profile link, such as instagram.com/username. The link format lets GetInsta confirm it is a profile and not a post.
Responsible use
GetInsta only works with content that is already public, and a post being public does not mean it is free to reuse. Download media you own or have permission to use, and read the DMCA & Copyright page and the Terms of Service for what is expected of you.
