How the audio is produced
Instagram videos carry their sound as AAC audio. MP3 is a different codec, so converting means a real encode rather than just copying the data across. GetInsta encodes at a high-quality variable bitrate (about 190 kbps) and drops the video stream, so only the sound is processed.
Because this is a conversion, extraction takes a little longer than downloading a video, especially for longer clips.
When there is nothing to extract
Photo posts and profile pictures have no audio at all, and some videos are silent. In those cases GetInsta tells you no audio track was found instead of handing you an empty file.
Occasionally audio extraction may be temporarily unavailable on the server. When that happens GetInsta says so plainly, and you can still download the video from the Reels or Video downloader.
Music and copyright
The sound in a Reel is often licensed music or someone else's recording. Having a copy of the audio does not give you the right to use it in your own videos or to redistribute it. Keep extracted audio for personal listening, or use it only where you hold the rights.
