Video quality you can expect
GetInsta retrieves the same source file Instagram's own player uses for that post, without extra compression or upscaling. If Instagram serves a video at 720×1280, that is exactly what you get, and it is labeled that way on the result card.
Quality varies from post to post because it depends on what the uploader published and what Instagram stores. Two videos from the same account can legitimately come back at different resolutions.
Feed videos versus Reels
Instagram uses different URL patterns for regular video posts and for Reels, but both go through the same detection. The tabs above the input only change the hint text; GetInsta works out what the link actually points to, so a feed video pasted under any tab still comes back as a video.
When a video can't be fetched
Private accounts, deleted posts, and links that were cut off when copied cannot be resolved. In those cases GetInsta shows a clear message instead of a broken or empty file.
GetInsta only works with public posts, the same content anyone could already view without logging in. If a post's account is private, the download will fail with a clear message instead of pretending to work.
Frequently asked questions
Does this work on private accounts?
No. GetInsta never asks for your Instagram login, so it can only retrieve content that Instagram already serves to a logged-out visitor.
Will the video quality match the original?
GetInsta retrieves the same source file Instagram's own player uses for that post. No unnecessary re-encoding or compression is applied.
Why did my download fail?
Usually because the URL wasn't a public video post, the account is private, or Instagram's page structure changed since our last check. Try re-copying the link directly from the post.
