How it works

Instagram does not serve Story content through any public, unauthenticated web page — not even for accounts that are otherwise fully public.
Viewing a Story, even briefly, always requires an active logged-in Instagram session.
GetInsta will never ask for your Instagram username or password, so it has no legitimate way to reach Story content.

Many "story downloader" tools you'll find elsewhere work around this by asking for your Instagram login or session cookie. GetInsta will not do that — it's a real security and privacy risk, and outside the scope of what a public-content downloader should ever ask for.

If Instagram ever exposes a legitimate public mechanism for Story content, this page will be updated to reflect real support — not before.

Will this feature ever be added?

Only if Instagram introduces a way to access Story content publicly, without authentication. We won't add a fake or credential-harvesting version of this feature in the meantime.
